my sleeping schedule is totally screwed. i haven’t been able to fall asleep the past few nights till at least 5 in the morning here, which is essentially 11pm back home. whatever. it gives me some time to contemplate updates.
so it was Christmas today! Merry Christmas! I woke up around 11, just in time for Matt to be all excited about the Nespresso machine that Pam bought him. save that till later. we left the apt in search of food and settled on getting baguettes from one of the few boulangeries that were open. with some ham, cheese and fried eggs, those baguettes made a mighty tasty meal. and then we poured some espresso from the new machine over some vanilla ice cream. voila! yum.
then pam and matt left for rome and i made my way towards the Fondation des Etats-Unis, the dorms where Meredith is staying. she made a fabulous Christmas dinner which i am eternally grateful for. jim and wil joined us and we had a great time chatting over dinner in the dorm kitchen.
i hadn’t been to the louvre, yet, so as a last stop for me in Paris, they took me there. i’m not too interested in the collection inside, so just seeing Pei’s pyramids on the plaza was good enough for me. i must say that the detailing of those monuments are really nice. gosh, Pei’s still alive, albeit really old. it will be a sad day when he passes- although, i guess his time is coming.
well, Merry Christmas!
